SALT Shakers Make Difference with "Snowball Battle" Fundraiser

The SALT Shakers (Student Action Leadership Team) have been SHAKING it up and leading at Orchard Hills! This winter they were inspired to take action after learning about the devastating wildfires that swept through California earlier this year. Wanting to make a meaningful impact, they voted to support the American Red Cross and its relief efforts. These experiences empower our students to see that their impact extends far beyond our school walls—a powerful lesson in leadership, compassion, and growth!

To rally the school community, the SALT Shakers organized a creative fundraiser called the "Snowball Battle." Students had the chance to "throw" snowballs (paper balls) at different classrooms by purchasing them at 3 for $1. At the end of February, the grade-level classes with the fewest snowballs posted outside their door were crowned the winner and received an ice cream party!

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our Orchard Hills families and the teamwork of Orchard Hills students, the fundraiser brought in $600 for wildfire relief! First grade SALT Shaker Jacob B. said, "It made me feel good to help people in need. $600 is more than I thought we would raise!"

We are so proud of our OH Wildcats for showing such kindness and commitment to helping others.
